"PORTRAIT OF CINCINNATI MAYOR MARK MALLORY"
Oil On Canvas
60"H x 48"W
In April 2006,Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory was featured on the cover of "Cincinnati Magazine",sharing his new vision for the City. This picture was originally a photograph by "Cincinnati Magazine",showing the Mayor in the street Downtown Cincinnati.I painted the same picture, changing the background to make it looks like Mayor's office in top of Carew Tower, the tallest building in Downtown Cincinnati.City hall is shown in red,the Museum, and a beautiful sky with United States map in the clouds. Then I painted on top of the antique mahogany desk a newspaper "Cincinnati Enquirer" that symbolizes "getting informed on what is going on in the city". The bronze statue represents a warrior put to the test, taking an oath with the right hand on the heart. The red book means intellectual and knowledge. I tried to symbolize throughout this painting, the goodwill and determination of Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory,to take good care of the City and make it a better place to live.
